Buying from a distance

Not sure if this should go here or in the transportation page... have any of you bought at a distance and had someone else go get the tractor? There are a lot of nice ones at some distance. I am looking for information and feedback from those who have done it. thanks!

Back in 2004 I bought a restored AC IB that was located in Iowa. Found a trucker on yesterday's tractor site to haul it. Worked out well.

Bought a blade from a fellow in WI and then lost contact with him for over a month. A member retrieved and held it for me till we made other connections. It works if you have patience.

I sold a 2010 through pictures. It went from Indiana to Arkansas, had a private hauler do the delivery, new owner was happy.

I've picked up a couple of tractors and several implements for members and held them here until they could pick them up. Seemed to work OK.
