Circuit breaker for 7010

Recommended Posts

Chris727
I have a late 7010 with a 10hp Kohler. It has the 3 amp alternator with an unregulated charging system. I need to replace the circuit breaker and the parts book doesn't say what amp it is. The auto parts store has a 20 amp breaker, will this work on the lower amperage charging system or do I need a 10 amp? Thanks! -Chris

The 20 amp is what you should use. The wiring can take 20 amps. The breaker prevents an overdraw from the battery. The rate at which you charge the battery as long as it's less than 20 amps. If you constantly draw greater than 3 amps, the battery will lose it's charge.
