Cab Windows

First of all, A Happy New Year to all! My question is---does anyone know of a surefire product or have a surefire home remedy for cleaning/polishing the clear plastic windows on the cabs. I just finished installing an Original Tractor Cab {originally mfg'd for Allis Chalmers} on my '91 Sovereign and although the windows are in pretty good condition I would like to clean them a little better. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Dave

I have seen this advertised, but have no idea if it works or not: http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=65938 Nothing more than some type of solution and a drill-mounted foam pad system. Probably just another gimmick, but you never know. Glen

a little buffer works good. i had this one sitting around for years and finaly found a good use for it 8D. i started out useing meguiars plastX plastic cleaner-polish and it worked good. a jeep gear head buddy of mine said the 3M products worked great on his jeep windows but gave the cleaner away when he sold his jeep. same friend gave me some of this NOVUS stuff and it works really well. much better than the plastX. i only have a small bottle of the #2 fine scratch remover. i would like to get all 3 parts of the NOVUS. just the one #2 bottle i have made my windows nice and clear. cant imagine what the #1 clean & shine would do ^. http://www.novuspolish.com/

A paste of fuel oil and chalk is what we used on canopy's back in the 1950's. It worked quite well,I don't know what they use now but I'll bet it's more expensive.:D

Thanks to everyone for all the help. Maynard, the toothpaste trick worked great. Since it was what I had here I tried it first. Put some on a damp to wet cotton cloth and rubbed it in then wiped with a wet cloth and dried. They aren't perfect but it removed the yellow cast from the windshield and many of the smaller scratches and stains. When I clean the cab up good, I'll give it another treatment. Sure made a great improvement. Thanks again to all. By the way, I used plain old Colgate with Cavity Prevention....Cavity Prevention very important on plastic windows.LOL:D

Site programming updates were made 3/23/2024. As a result some things have changed including dues payment options. We will continue maintenance and work with technicians to regain credit card payment option and clear up minor challenges. On positive it appears attaching pictures is now easier. Good day. Gene
