Snow thrower pully size

Recommended Posts

AC_HB-112
I have a 70's snow thrower on a B-212. I modified my bracket to work with the 212 and the clutching works pretty well for most part. The problem is, I don't seem to be getting the rpm needed and the snow flys but also slowly piles up on the snow thrower in the direction the shute is pointed and causes it to build up and clog unless the snow is deep. It also isn't flying as far as it should. I belive this is due to the main snow thrower pully being to large. So, what size is the pully supposed to be, does any one have one they don't need, and would there be any other suggestions you could offer?

Its a function of the blower and the crankshaft pulley size...if thre is clearence you could change one or the other to get the speed. I thought the older ones had 5" on both...but not sure. I thought the newer snowthrowers have 7's? Once you get it going your really gonna like it!
