Carburetor I.D. help

Recommended Posts

Found this carburetor yesterday in a long forgotten shelf in the cellar where it has been sitting for at least 40 years. At first glance it looks like a medium Briggs Flo-Jet but it is quite a bit smaller with only about 1 3/4" spacing for the mounting holes and a throat diameter of about .900". What is it, ZZP?

They used these carbs on the letter model numbered engines. Smaller carbs like this were normally found on 2-5HP engines before they came out with the vacu-jet and pulsa-jet diaphram carbs which were so common for so many years. I don't have my Briggs book in front of me but they were basicly a small flow version of a flo-jet for the small displacement engines.
