Sleeve hitch question

Our newest tractor, "Sad Sack", (see recent post in show and tell), has a BRINLY sleeve hitch from a Cub Cadet with the mounting bracket welded to the Simplicity lower rear hitch. My question is about the pin plate, that appears to be factory, welded on below the two jamb bolts. This would prevent the use of the yoke that is commonly used to attached a moldboard plow to this hitch. In the picture there is a plug in the cylinder that the Brinly pin should go through, that is just a bolt some PO stuck in there. Does anyone know what this hitch is set up for?

The part number on the Brinly label looks like B-64-1396?, anyone have an old Brinly catalog? Thanks, John U

Is it possible to grind off the welds and return sad sack,s rear end to OEM . Looks like the brinley hitch could be modified to look pretty close to a OEM new style.

Marty, my question relates to what I am calling the pin plate that sticks out to allow a cart or whatever to be attached. This "pin plate" looks to be part of the original brinly hitch, not something someone has added. Since a yolk for a plow, like in the picture below, cannot be used on this hitch, what was the hitch intended for?

Definitely something someone added in the wrong postion. Some people can't see the trees for the forrest It most likely is the sway plate bracket (H). Remove it and turn it around so the the hitch pin goes thru it and the plow beam end/hitch bracket/yoke you show above. The two side bolts (B) are used to adjust the angle of the plow and side to side swing rate.

Maynard, you are correct in saying this is something added by a PO.

After I read your post, I went back out and looked at it again. This plate was added for sure, and keeps the hitch from being used as intended. Maybe that's why the guy attached his plow directly to the rear lift, I wonder how well this works???

Thanks for helping me see the tree in the forest here, we will cut the "pin plate" off and restore the Brinly hitch to it's intended configuration. As for the plow???? John U
