Brettw 1,019 Posted January 19, 2010 I have access to a very low hours Briggs Vanguard 16hp v twin. It is a horizontal shaft and appears to have the correct sized crank. Does anyone have the resources to determine if this is something that is remotely compatible with a re-power? Here are the following codes: Model# 03447 Type 1188-A1 5097 Engine Code: 97052011 Thanks in advance.
RayS 79 Posted January 19, 2010 PatRarick has installed them in more than one tractor. It is down a ways in the post below. There is another that has put them in a B series Allis as well. http://www.simpletractors.com/club2/topic.asp?ARCHIVE=true&TOPIC_ID=86413&SearchTerms=vanguard
Brettw 1,019 Posted January 19, 2010 Thanks Ray. This motor has the electric start and the oil filter. It looks like mounting the driveshaft is the biggest hurdle. I'll see what he wants for it. Looks like it would be a great repower if it works.

Brettw 1,019 Posted January 19, 2010 Does anyone know what a fair price for the engine would be?
Brettw 1,019 Posted January 19, 2010 Nevermind. He wants more than I want to spend on a motor I don't really need. I'll post it for him in the classifieds.
