Removing a wheel

Recommended Posts

JCS
I am trying to remove one of the back wheels from my 611LT so that I can replace a seal. I removed the snap ring and washer, and the wheel would not budge (I think it is supposed to slide off, with a key to prevent rotation, just like the other side, which came right off). I am unable to pull it off with a gear puller, tapping does not help, nor does strong language. I am soaking with WD-40 to loosen the rust - any other ideas? I have the transaxle removed from the frame.

After done soaking keep a puller on it and heat it up with a torch. Clean off the outside of the axle and make sure there is no burr or mushrooming from someone pounding a hammer on it.
