Value of a B112?

I have a chance to buy a AC B112 which runs, does NOT have a mower deck or attachments, the original horizontal shaft engine is gone (replaced with a vertical shaft B&S 8hp). It is a gear shift, not hydrostatic. Overall condition is O.K. besides the above mentioned problems. What is it worth?

Hydrostatic 12HP $1338.00 Vari. speed 12HP $1187.00 Vari. speed 10 HP $1016.00 These are dealer prices handwritten in an original B-110/B-112 and B-207/B-208 product brochure. I would say maybe $300 since no attachments and not origial engine. How does a vertical shaft engine work in this? Jordan
