Simplicity 2012 3 speed to Hydro hybrid project

Sam, Great work as usual. You are definitely a man of many talents. As to the tranny pulleys, keep the same ratio of diameters to keep the same speed relationship. I believe the Sunstrand uses a 5.0" driver and a 5.5" driven pulley, so the driven to driver ratio is 1.10. I believe the Vickers uses the same driven pulley, but I can't find the diameter of the driver (#154308, it's NLA at Jack's), so say it's 4.5", then you need to reduce the driven pulley to 4.95". In the calculation, you should really use the effective diameter of the pulleys to account for where the belt rides in the pulley. Easiest way to do it is to measure the "belt wrap" (length of belt used to completely wrap the pulley at the running depth) of each pulley and use those figures in the calculation.

Bumping this topic to the top, as I am working on yet another hydro conversion. Going to use most of the info in this topic to do my current Big Ten conversion.

I am also  in the process of recovering the lost photos in this topic and reposting them. So, give it a day or two and I will have all the broken links to the photos re-established linked to the photos here now in my albums.

Did not get them all recovered though.

Here is a link to my first conversion based on a B-112
