I am wondering what the availability is for a 808GT muffler (the Simplicity equalivent is a 6008?) This is the muffler that is down below and in front of the engine, is roughly 12 inches long and 3-4 inches in diameter. What attachmants are available for this mower and how widely do thewy fit compared to other mowers (just this series or many series?) How well will it run a blade or snow thrower? Any special problems with this mower?

Your muffler may be available new. Am at home now so drop us a line or ph 724-376-2489 8-5 eastern. It was amazing how much snow those little guys would push with chains & weights. A little low on HP for a blower. Bill

Actually Simplicity's 6008 used a small square muffler about 4"x4" that is sold by B&S. It bolts directly to the block. Their 6010 10HP used the muffler you are refering to. The larger muffer alone is about $52. I think the exhaust ports are different between an 8 and 10 HP. If so you will either need to get a special AC 8 HP muffler or go with the smaller/cheaper B&S one.

The muffler I was talking about looks like what you describe. I forget what tractor it came off of. The transmsiions was shot and alot of the attaching hardware for the mower deck was missing. I saved the mower deck spindels and housings and the 11 hp? motor that ran good. I sold the rest to someone who needed tires. I think the muffler is o.k. I will look at it tonight.
