mendon-chalmers 0 Posted April 18, 2010 Hello, can anyone tell me how many AMPS a starter/gen. from a B112 puts out. Thank you.
Al 6 Posted April 18, 2010 Hi, They are rated at 10 amps max. First they have only 1 generator field coil and they have a sealed case and no fan to pull air through them. If they are teamed with the wrong regulator, one for regular A circuit generators that are rated 20 to 25 amps on the current limit section the S/G can be destroyed. mendon-chalmers 0 Posted April 19, 2010 Thanks very much AL, thinking of a bigger pump on the yard sprayer, I am thinking it said 11 AMPS.
Al 6 Posted April 19, 2010 Hi, Since the pump would not be on consistantly, you shouldn't have a problem as the battery would provide a buffer between full load periods. Al Eden
mendon-chalmers 0 Posted April 21, 2010 I have 1 3/4 acres to spray & a 55 gal. sprayer if this makes a difference. Thanks AL.
Al 6 Posted April 21, 2010 Hi, On my sprayer the pump cycles on and off and probably only runs about 75% of the time. I would think you should get by without a problem. If you have the correct regulator the current limit side will limit the S/G output to 10 to12 amps and if the battery goes down a little the S/G will be protected and the battery will recharge when the load is gone. Also the max draw of the pump will increase with the pressure. If you are using several nozzles the pressure will likely go down (unless you are using a regulator) and the current draw will drop. You are so close on the current, I would not expect any problem with your project. If you were spraying all day long, I might feel more concerned.
