B-210 starter woes...

A buddy of mine gave me a starter/generator off an old Cub Cadet. It is the same brand (Delco) and looks exactly the same as what mine did. The problem is that it turns in the wrong direction. Is there a fix for this inside the starter? I looked at my old one and this new one and they look to be wired internally the same. Any help would be appreciated! Bud
