leaky pressure line on my sunstar

Recommended Posts

Has anyone replaced or tightened the pressure line that leads from the hydrostatic pump to the steering valve ? Mine is leaking, and it seems almost impossible to me to get a wrench on it unless I remove the entire unit. Anyone ??? Thanks in advance.

Well, I just literally got finished rebuilding the steering valve so I know what you are going through. Probably the easiest way is to remove the right and left lines that go to the steering cylinder. An 11/16 "crow's foot" is helpful. In your case it might be a good idea to remove the battery tray. You can't get much of a turn on it but sooner or later you can get it.

OK, I got the nut tightened. Had to remove the impliment valve supply line to tighten the main supply. While I was at it, I changed the fluid and filter. Now another problem, I seem to have an air lock in the hydro system. At least I think that is the problem. The is pumping fluid back through the fill tube. Anybody had this problem ?
