Kent 435 Posted May 27, 2001 Steve, There is no source of information that any of us have found that gives the information by serial number. Simplicity used production runs, instead of model years, and changed the MFR NO (Allis-Chalmers calls this a Product #) only when there were significant changes to the tractor. B-10s were actually made twice. There was a 9HP version that was made during 1963 and 1964. Then in 1965 and early 1966 they changed the name to Big Ten and put a 10HP engine in it. In late 1966 through at least early 1968, they went back to the B-10 name, after they had introduced the B-12. The tractor was discontinued when the B-110 was introduced, but dealers could still order new ones from stock at least through August of 1969.... Check to see if you can find the Product No on your tractor. The early B-10s were Product Number 2025041 (Electric Start) or 2025042 (Manual Start) and were manufactured in 1963 and 1964. All the later ones had the Bumblebee logo (below) on the side panels. Try checking the serial number on your Briggs and Stratton engine. If it is the original engine, you can date it by the serial number. This should get you to within a few months of when the tractor was made... http://www.simpletractors.com/images/1966_ac/bumblebee.jpg
