DMKNLD 0 Posted May 14, 2010 So I took several posters suggestions and found an Allis Chalmers 716H to part replace in my Simplicity 7114H, which I understand were produced as 'identical twins'. Here's my issue - I want to swap the AC tractors hydro pump for my very leaky 7114 hydrostat, but the AC tractor pump had what looks like Dexron in it, and my 7114 has multi-purpose hydro oil. Will I frig it up if I use Dexron and it mixes w/ the residual multi-purpose oil left in my Simplicity transaxle? Can I do repeat fluid and filter changes to get rid of the multi-purpose hydro oil? RayS 79 Posted May 14, 2010 I would just drain, change filter and put which ever you wanted in it. My 917H had the multi-purpose oil in it when I got it now it has Dexron. My vehicles use Dexron and so my tractors.
