JohnMBerst 28 Report post Posted May 21, 2010 Working on a number of things on my 6216. Still have drive belt and battery to install, but working on cleaning the B&S twin. Removed all of the sheet metal, as for the last 28+ years don't think it has seem the light of day. Not tons of dirt, and a but around the gaskets, and in the fins. Question is (model 402707 0130 01 81081512) there was fiberglass below the armature (?)were the wires for the spark plug come. It was shoved between the armature and the casting fins below. A good 20 year ago I took my 12.5 B&S apart the same way, and did not have this fiberglass. Question is is in necessary? or original? Still working on the cleaning, but before I put sheet metal back on just wanted to know. This and other question to follow. Thanks sm01
sunrunner 0 Report post Posted May 21, 2010 I remember seeing one on one of my '16s. Can't find it on any "exploded view" of the engine - Will look into it more before Sat. mowing - Chris
