707 does it need a battery

guys I have a 707 and it had a starter on it , do I need to use this or will I be able to use it by just pull starting it?

thanks guys , cleaned the carb, turned on the key , made a starter rope and away she went , has not run in a few years and it started on the second pull ,

Just make sure to insulate your battery terminals. When the generator is spinning it will try to produce voltage and it can be nasty if it makes chassis contact:O
