JimS 1 Posted June 9, 2010 I have a problem swapping 15 HP Kohler engines on a JD LT155. The engines are the same except the original engine has a 3 amp charging system and the new engine has a 15 amp charging system. The connector plugs are also the same but when I attach the battery ground I get sparks and the connector plug gets warm. If I disconnect the plug there is no sparking when I hook up the ground. Anybody know what is happening and what I need to do to use the 15 amp system with the 3 amp tractor system? Thanks.

TimJr 206 Posted June 10, 2010 Go talk to your local Deere dealer - it was a dealer installed option to have the 15 amp regulated system on the LT's. Just be sure to have all your model and serial numbers so they know what you have. Tim
SACK 0 Posted June 11, 2010 It's probably a different regulator, to match the stator.
