perry 1 Posted June 21, 2010 my day started at 6:30 am when i saw this AD for a old wards tractor. made the call and i was on the road by 7am :D. the tractor came with deck, snow blower w/electric chute rotator, a nice snow cab, and all the manuals. has a 8hp horizontal briggs drive shaft driven . little smaller but still built like the larger HP old wards tractors. when i got back from that haul i got a call on a simplicity garden plow i was waiting on. see sim plow post here - http://www.simpletractors.com/club2/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=112247 by now the wife was getting a little P'od that i was out on fathers day running around collecting junk as she would call it. just cant pass up a deal ya know ;). then later in the day a guy brought me a trailer full of goodys. he said the 3pt tiller is a Ariens but im for sure. there is 2 sets of pull behind reel mowers. one set has montgomery wards model tag not sure about the other set. old moto-mower , JD rider, case deck, 2 reel wlakers and a few small farm tractor implement parts. JimH 1 Posted June 21, 2010 Perry, you scored again. Awsome fathers day gifts. I think that puts you up to 4 cabs now, doesn't it?
johnmonkey 4 Posted June 21, 2010 Great haul. Is that a push style Simplicity reel mower? I see an "S" on the hubcap. Do you know where to get tires for old reel mowers? I have a pull behind reel mower (a triple pull)and the tires are shot. Mine is a "General Mower Corp" reel. JH

JH i dont know anything about the reel mowers or where to find parts. haven't had a chance to look these over yet. the one walker with the S on it may be a simplicity. the guy said it was scott's. but im not sure if scott's was around back then. MPH 12 Posted June 21, 2010 strange hitch on those first two reel mowers, how's that hook up to the tractor? looks like a early 70's gilson on the wards to me, maybe older with the round rear fenders.
perry 1 Posted June 21, 2010 yep 4 cabs now 8D. the rear fenders and feet rest are homemade to inclose the cab. quote:Originally posted by JimH Perry, you scored again. Awsome fathers day gifts. I think that puts you up to 4 cabs now, doesn't it?
