mroman59 1 Posted June 25, 2010 I put my BGB back together and everything seems to be working fine, however I do have some slight oil leakage I think may be coming from the box. I tighten up the bolts, but maybe I need to tighten them up a little more. Does anyone know if you have to replace that gasket every time you remove that cover or is it supposed to be reusable? Thanks, MR
B10Dave 1,669 Posted June 25, 2010 Replace every time and use some form of gasket sealer ( not silicone ) to make an oiltight joint. B10Dave
ardisam 23 Posted June 26, 2010 I would get a gasket from a Simplicity dealer, and replace the old one, and use the blue RTV silicone(theres not wrong with that). I found out the gasket sealer harder to remove than silicone. Trust me, I have a friend who has been a Allis Chalmers mechanic for his whole life and uses the RTV silicone on all of the engines he overhauls.
