Did AC or Simplicity ever make a one arm loader?? I have seen them on Ford and Cub Lo Boy tractors. I never have used one. Are they strong enough for genearal loading? Anyone have any photos? Thanks.

We had one on a Ford 4000 for quite a few years. The little Ford had no power steering, so it was a PITA to turn. It was also very difficult to get on and off the tractor. The trip bucket also made it diffcult to dig with. Two arm loaders are much better for balance, usability, and removability.

Here's a link to a company selling plans for a one arm loader: http://www.cadplans.com/507.htm I have no experience with it. I think I'd be inclined to use a more conventional design, but this could be fine.

Sounds dependent on material quality in order to be reliable. The torsional forces place a lot of load on the pivots and mounts that a 2 arm wouldn't.
