brockway 0 Posted August 14, 2010 Little confused I am getting spark with the plug out and on a bolt. And when I try to start it,it doesn't start and the plug comes out they are wet? So it is getting fuel.Even sprayed starting fluid in the cylinders.
CDeHeer 0 Posted August 14, 2010 Bad or discharged battery? It takes a certain RPM to get spark from a magnetron ignition. RPMs may be achieved without compression but not against.
goatfarmer 817 Posted August 14, 2010 Is it possibly out of time? Partially sheared key?
brockway 0 Posted August 14, 2010 I am helping a friend out with this tractor. How would I know if the key is sheared?
CDeHeer 0 Posted August 14, 2010 quote:.How would I know if the key is sheared? You have to pull the flywheel to check the key. Probaly just a couple taps on the crankshaft to confirm.
Willy 2 Posted August 15, 2010 Like Maynard said replace the plug. Sometimes they wont fire under compression.
JimDk 0 Posted August 15, 2010 Our grandson just had a coil failure in his 16 twin Briggs. It would run ok until it got hot.
firefoxz1 4 Posted August 16, 2010 I have replaced quite a few of those coils on the twins. Might just be a weak spark from a failing coil but the easiest thing to try is the plugs first.
brockway 0 Posted August 22, 2010 I got it fixed it was a bad coil Thanks for the help
