RonHatch 0 Posted August 14, 2010 I just disassembled my B10 RGB. I found that the input shaft is worn where the gear and ball bearing ride. But the more serious problem is the gear's teeth are half worn away. The output shaft and gear look fine. My question is: Does anyone have a source for a new set of spiral bevel gears? Maybe Boston Gear or some other gear company?? Thanks, Ron
RayS 79 Posted August 14, 2010 Simplicity dealers still stock them. part numbers 2154121 driver gear 2154139 driven gear http://www.jackssmallengines.com/searchdb2.cfm
Willy 2 Posted August 14, 2010 I would look for a good used one. The beveled gear are a bit pricey. And the out put shaft is all so high.

dave45056 15 Posted August 16, 2010 I would not consider any gears except the Simplicity ones. They are REALLY hard (over 60 HRc) and last a long time as long as you keep oil in the bgb. Some members have lot's of parts available. Place an add in the classified section and see who chimes in... Otherwise, go to the show in Portland, IN next week.
