B10 RGB GEARS

Recommended Posts

RonHatch
I just disassembled my B10 RGB. I found that the input shaft is worn where the gear and ball bearing ride. But the more serious problem is the gear's teeth are half worn away. The output shaft and gear look fine. My question is: Does anyone have a source for a new set of spiral bevel gears? Maybe Boston Gear or some other gear company?? Thanks, Ron

I would not consider any gears except the Simplicity ones. They are REALLY hard (over 60 HRc) and last a long time as long as you keep oil in the bgb. Some members have lot's of parts available. Place an add in the classified section and see who chimes in... Otherwise, go to the show in Portland, IN next week.
