stijntje113 0 Posted August 15, 2010 Hello, I've bought an simplicity which doesn't work. Something with the carb is wrong. I've cleaned the carb, and now it almost runs. Although the little steel stick which operates the air intake isn't connected. If i close this intake, the engine runs. My problem is that i don;t know where to put this little steel stick. So it gets connected to the throttle. Is it possible for someone who has an 3108 to make an picture or to explain where i can connect this stick? Thank you in advance, and sorry for my spelling. BLT 708 Posted August 15, 2010 The 'steel stick' you refer to, is the link that connects the carb throttle plate to the governor arm. You will have to remove the control lever box and carb, then connect the two and then reassemble the carb and control box back on the engine. The governor arm is approx 55-75 MM long and also connected a short stout spring which is the governor speed spring.

Roy 0 Posted August 15, 2010 "Gee Roy, you speak Dutch? " Nope, that's why his English is far superior to my Dutch (e.g. lack thereof). :D
stijntje113 0 Posted August 18, 2010 Thank you BLT for your explenation. Although it's not really clear to me yet, therefor i have made some pictures from the governor arm. I think theres maybe missing a spring or don;t know where to connect. I've made a picture of the place i think this "steel stick" should come, but if i connect it there, and re-assemble the control lever box. It doesn;t stay at the same place, and get loose again. Can you please explain me ( with help of the photo's) where the steel stick should come.
