AC_B-1Novice 1 Posted August 18, 2010 Will this work on my LL 7012 1690352? thanks larry
Burntime 1 Posted August 18, 2010 Yep but you will need a different colar on the left side. The old rbt have the same size hole, the newer ones have 2 different sizes...
AC_B-1Novice 1 Posted August 18, 2010 Thanks Mike - but I'm not sure what a collar is and is it hard to find or expensive? Also mine is an rbt and how do I know what size I would need?
PhanDad 3,246 Posted August 18, 2010 The collar mentioned in the above post is shown circled in red in the following pic: I believe the part is still available from Simplicity.
AC_B-1Novice 1 Posted August 18, 2010 Thanks Bill it shouldn't be very expensive. I'm not sure why it needs to be a different size but I guess I'll find out if I go to put it on. larry
GregB 879 Posted August 18, 2010 The later tractors used two different size holes in the verticle plates so you could remove the one point hitch without unbolting the verticle plates for the hitch from the trans. Design improvement.
AC_B-1Novice 1 Posted August 18, 2010 Greg..makes sense to me. Glad to know it was improved.
timflury 1 Posted August 18, 2010 The proper name for that is a "Shaft Collar". ANy hardware store should have them.
GregB 879 Posted August 19, 2010 The one is a standard "shaft collar", the larger actually has a step or shoulder that fits into the larger hole. See below for parts list of 1690045 Rear lift kit Still available $30.00 ~ MAybe someone has a used one you can get cheaper. OR if you had a friend who had access to some stock and a lathe should not be to hard to make.
AC_B-1Novice 1 Posted August 19, 2010 Greg, are you saying that the kit is $30 if so where can I get it?
RayS 79 Posted August 19, 2010 Number 6 in the diagram is $30.00 if not more by now.
HubbardRA 19 Posted August 19, 2010 If you have access to a lathe, or possibly just a welder and grinder, you could do what I did. I made a stepped washer to keep the shaft centered in the hole, and then used a standard collar like is used on the other side.
