rpickle 0 Posted August 28, 2010 Hi I got my 3212v running well enough today that I used it to cut the grass! It takes way too many cranks to start though. Any help would be appreciated. It has lots of spark. Plugs pulls out dry, but carb drips..... Rick

Willy 2 Posted August 28, 2010 Try holding your throttle linkage closed I have a 10 H/P big 10 and that the only way she'll start.
SteveP 0 Posted August 29, 2010 Hold the clutch/brake in. Not turning the rear end that way.
rpickle 0 Posted August 29, 2010 It does have a crab kit in it. I'll try holding the throttle linkage closed. I always have the clutch in, just a habit I guess. Lot less drag on the battery for sure. Thanks for the replies. Rick
goatfarmer 817 Posted August 29, 2010 The local dealer told me to always start the old Briggs engines with the throttle barely cracked open, and a full choke. The 10HP in my 2110 always starts easy that way.
rpickle 0 Posted August 29, 2010 When I tried to start it this afternoon, I tried closing the throttle. Seemed to help quite a bit. Battery had weakened quite a bit so have it on the charger. One more question on this guy. I have one wire from the wire harness that I am not sure where it goes. It is the yellow wire. Tractor electrically seems OK, lights come on, ammeter shows a charge and drain. However, the engine does not quite when I shut the key off. Appreciate the help.
