larry8200 4 Posted August 31, 2010 Just got a 7112H and for my life cant figure (with the manual) how to check the fluid.
wilm169 1 Posted August 31, 2010 Plug on the back of the trans, fill to top.
PhanDad 3,251 Posted August 31, 2010 Cap is circled in red: I've found it best to check the level immediately after tractor was running and moving. If there is any "leak down" the fluid level will look OK, but actually be a little low.
larry8200 4 Posted August 31, 2010 Thanks, I thought that was for the gearbox.
cwm1276 11 Posted August 31, 2010 The gear box is used as a resevoir for the hydro, so you still were correct. sm01

The fill tube on the back of the 7112 has a fitting 2 inches longer, I wondered at that. But I got it now.

RayS 79 Posted September 12, 2010 Above picture is from the Sundstrand repair manual and states the various oils allowed for use in a Sundstrand unit. If you have the remote filter just behind the BGB, you need Simplicity filter 1650954. That filter can be crossed to a Wix 51068 or NAPA 1068. If you have the short filter on the Sundstrand pump it is Simplicity part number 1671234. Crosses to a Wix 51335 or a NAPA 1335. The filter numbers are in the parts manual at the link below. http://www.simplicitymfg.com/manuals/ http://bsintek.basco.com/BriggsDocumentDisplay/default.aspx?filename=heCBEN8.wJ1rE7CNj5kbp796Dq
