Doll 0 Posted September 1, 2010 I would check the parts manuals for both and look at the drive shaft and shaft to engine hardware for both. Its been a long while and I'm not sure but I seem to recall these being different.
305SS 0 Posted September 1, 2010 What WILM169 said it is easyer to go from kohler to kohler and briggs to briggs. I've got a 14hp kohler in my 710 and it is out of an ariens gt14.
HubbardRA 19 Posted September 1, 2010 A 7010 and 7016 are essentially the same tractor with different engines and different tire sizes. It is a drop in, with just making sure to hook up the wires correctly. Yours is much simpler than putting a Kohler CH25 in a 7116H like I am doing.
Brettw 1,015 Posted September 1, 2010 If it is all like the 7100 series, I believe the wiring harness, and electrical systems of the briggs and kohler are different, right down to the ignition switch. Otherwise they should bolt right in. Don't forget about throttle and choke cables too, they will be different lengths, etc. Might be differences in muffler connections and heat shields too.
