Brettw 1,016 Posted September 4, 2010 A few questions: Are the heads for a k321 and k 301 interchangeable? They appear to be identical. Are the heads still availalbe? About how much? Thanks
TimJr 206 Posted September 4, 2010 They should interchange - However - there are at least 3 styles of heads for those. Biggest difference I ever noticed was spark plug location and fins shape. Could interfere with your shroud set up. Pretty sure the heads are available new, but over $100. Good used ones seem to go for $30 to $50. Tim
Brettw 1,016 Posted September 4, 2010 Thanks. Yup, it's been one of those days, first the blown head gasket, which melted a small area of the head with the blow-by. Got it fixed up with a head from the K301, went to finish cutting the grass, backing up I caught the blacktop at the road and promptly snapped the rear roller bar on the deck. }:) Sigh............ Oh well, I look at the bright side, it could have been a burned valve or worse instead of the head gasket. sm01
HubbardRA 19 Posted September 5, 2010 10, 12, and 14 Hp engine heads will interchange. I do not know if the head volumes are the same.
