A nice little tractor day

Today I did my semi annual sickle excursion into my grandmother's property(7 acres of creek edges) with the trusty 64 LL and sickle. The day even got off to a neat start when a fellow S-AC owner pulled over to chat about the LL I had on the trailer!:D

The other side project: Paint the thing that is filled with painted things, lol:p

The funny thing is my grandma had a 69 LL and I told her she wanted a sickle for it. She sold it to dad(fortunately) and bought a mid-sized deere with a 4 ft bush hog. Turns out the sickle for it is almost 4k$ sm00 My sickle will outrun the capability of the bush hog and I weigh a lot less when it comes to doing creek banks or tilted hill areas. Simpy wins again... Makes for a bit of job security and a little told ya so for me:D8D.

The vegetation was field grass, Poke and burrs mixed with kudzu vines. All were about 2 ft over my head and with exception of the vine in some places it cut all without effort. Even cut some trees in the process. Generally the drier it is the better. We have had 2 months of 90s so the veg and ground were quite stiff. Crossing the creek was not too bad either for same reason. Sometimes it gets a couple feet deep but was mere inches this time. The rattle can was just for reference on the pear. Actual product for the barn is Tractor Supply's Valspar farm/home red. 5 gals for 60 bucks, hard to beat. Still have some more coats to do but I like the product(unlike the rattle cans).
