THEPATRIOT 0 Posted September 18, 2010 I just changed the oil, ended up going with the Amsoil 5W-40 diesel.I pulled the filter to check it out,it was spotless with only a few small particles.I was surprised how clean the inside of the engine is(looking into the oil filler).Next will be a hydro service.I'll be using a Wix filter and Dexron fluid.Should i go with synthetic on the ATF???Also what about the BGB? 1969nicholas 0 Posted September 19, 2010 Looks good but if I were you I would check valve adjustment. Its very important on these Lombardini engines. I have seen them get loose and push rod pop out and hold valve open then piston hits valve and end of story.I have two engines out in shed with this problem now.I put a cast iron 16 Briggs on mine and very happy. One day I will take both diesels and make one good one out of them. UCD 14 Posted September 20, 2010 Synthetic is just as good if not better than dino oil.
