how do you break in...

This may not be the way others do it. I will start the engine and let it run at a good smooth rpm, probably about 1/4 throttle for 5 to 10 minutes. Then I will start revving it up to higher speeds and back down till after 4 or 5 times I get it to WOT. Don't hold it at WOT for over a few seconds without any load on it. After getting the engine on a mower, then take it out and ride it around but don't leave the engine at a constant rpm for very long, just keep changing speeds. Finally I will drive the mower with the engine at a slow speed and the tranny in a higher gear and throw the throttle lever wide open till it reaches top rpm. I do this 5 or 6 times. I change the oil and then just use it like any other. That is my way of breaking in an engine.

May not be the correct way But i break it in the way i use it slow when i take tractor/car out to work WOT while we mow, speed limit with car
