I got a great deal on craigs list a free simplicity broadmoor 738 has snow/dozer blade wheel weights and chains plus extra starter /gen new batt starts right up and has new short block!! I'm excited and I'm going to restore this to the best of my ability with some help from my friends here on tractor club!!

Looks like a really good place to start. My first Simplicity was free, makes it easier to get hooked. Nice job landing that deal, not sure how I missed that one ?!?!?!

Thanks guys ill keep u posted getting garage for winter ! Cant work in the cold!! LOL Ive got a 38X68 with 12ft high ceilings and now finished ceiling so i think ill just plastic off a area and use the torpedo heater and one piece at a time!

Welcome to the club, Paul. Nice score. I have owned a 738 before. If not already, you will be amazed at the clean, crisp cut you get mowing. Mine had the blade. With wheel weights and chains it is also real good at plowing snow.

A little tip/suggestion..... Bag and mark the little parts like fasteners, springs, belt stops etc. Take lots of pictures before and during disassembly, not for us(well maybe:D) but for your reference during reassembly. Doing so will reduce the "where's this part go" syndrome. Get manuals here. http://www.simplicitymfg.com/manuals/ I actually made up books for my serf and Landlord. I also downloaded the engine and parts manuals from the briggs site. Most of all, have fun with your project and NEVER be afraid to refer to us with questions.
