2210 revisitted

Dad's 2210 came in for top overhaul and ignition refit to Magnetron a couple weeks ago. My first ever 4 wheel vehicle and first ever repaint when I was 15sm01 The paint after 11 years was getting tired and it was the wrong shade of Allis Orange(too brown). Dad was fine with it but it always bugged me. A while back we braced the underside of the seat deck due to it squatting onto the neutral switch. Then when I was stripping the paint off I found the little cracks had turned into major cracks. A little welding and smoothing... Then came the fun painting and decals:D Valspar spray cans of their Tractor Restoration series Allis orange. It happened to match the undamaged underside of the hood pretty well. Here's the final result... Oh, I forgot the other main thing it was in for, ALL steering bushings were replaced. Even the steering shaft gear bushing. Now the deadband is almost nonexistent, when it came in it was almost 20 degrees:O The muffler is a Cub muffler from Tractor Supply. Not all that quiet but it has that "flowmaster" rumble:D

For the most part the 2210 had a nice life. Dad has the original 1970 bill of sale from my great-grandfather. Aside from being really tired and electrically toast with a bad BGB when we got it 11 yrs ago, it wasn't all that rusty and it still has no smoke on the original rings and valves. It's nice to get one that just needed a little updating every once in a while. A quick and easy flip for the family. The 64LL in the background(my personal one) was another story entirely. That was a full load of work, rusty and worn.

Thx, tomorrow the 2210 goes back over to his place to make his Deere neighbor jealous. Muahahaa. Dad already gets comments on how he can be so fast and yet have the best cut;) We all know how that workssm01

Very nice looking tractor, your rattle can paint job looks good! I love to watch the neighbors as they watch me mow the lawn, they WISH they had a 1967 yeoman to mow with! Nice work! Steve

Site programming updates were made 3/23/2024. As a result some things have changed including dues payment options. We will continue maintenance and work with technicians to regain credit card payment option and clear up minor challenges. On positive it appears attaching pictures is now easier. Good day. Gene
