Syncro Balance

Does anyone know if it is possible to check the timing on the Briggs 325431 engine without disassembling the engine? I have never owned a syncro balanced engine, so I wonder if it is as smooth as it should be. Also, I thing this engine has the counter-rotating weight version... is this correct?

You would need to pull the engine, then pop off the flywheel. There is a small timing check plug on the balancer cover where you insert a 1/8" dowel into the gear. If the timing is correct, the piston will be at top dead center. Tom (PK)

Site programming updates were made 3/23/2024. As a result some things have changed including dues payment options. We will continue maintenance and work with technicians to regain credit card payment option and clear up minor challenges. On positive it appears attaching pictures is now easier. Good day. Gene
