unregulated charging system

I have a 7018, k361(bad head), repowering with a k341. The tractor has no voltage regulator. by looking at the k341 engine manual they talk about a unregulated charging system. How does this work? I am thinking i will place the k361 stator and flywheel on the k341 and not have to modifiy the wiring. The k361 has about a 3/4 circumference stator and 3/4 of circumference magnet coverage on the flywheel. Any input?

Unregulated systems are generally 1-1/2 to 3 amps charging just to maintain the battery and has no regulator. Headlights are run by a separate circuit and brightness is controlled by RPM. That current is not enough to cook out a battery, and conversely will not keep up the charge when you have headlights, electric lifts and so on.
