10 HP Briggs Carb Float Height?

Recommended Posts

Hi, I have a 10hp briggs on a squire 10. I need to know what the FLOAT HEIGHT is for that carb. The engine is model# 243434. The type# is 0147 01 and, the code# is 6701241. It is an updraft carb. Thank you, Paul Cavallaro

The float should be level with the body mounting surface. Use a small ruler to check, and bend the float valve tang with needle nose pliers. DO NOT bend the tang by pushing down on the float, you'll ruin the valve seat. Your carb is referred to as a two piece Flo-Jet. The manual I have is p/n 270962 from Briggs & Stratton. One nice feature of this manual is a list of special tools and a chapter on small engine operation theory that shows the basics of engine operation in an easy to understand way.[A href='http://www.wheatfarm.com']http://www.wheatfarm.com[/a]

Site programming updates were made 3/23/2024. As a result some things have changed including dues payment options. We will continue maintenance and work with technicians to regain credit card payment option and clear up minor challenges. On positive it appears attaching pictures is now easier. Good day. Gene
