Anyone own a Regent lawn tractor?

I looked into these three options and found that for the money the regent is alot more tractor. The turning radius on the regent is 14 inch the jd is 20 and the white is 26.5 inches I think. The JD cannot except a snow thrower and the white is very light duty. The closest deere can get to a regent it has 20 inch turning but the deck is heavier this is the only advantage as far as I can tell. It is 1000 dollars more. Good luck Doug Ps. I am getting my Regent in 17 hours and counting.

Doug and Jordan, thanks for the reply. Doug, Are you getting any attachments with it? Are you aware of the $75.00 Regent rebate listed on the Simplicity website? This rebate is supposed to be valid through April 30, 2001. I have called the dealer I am talking to and asked him to confirm this rebate w/Simplicity. Did your dealer give you any break on the price? So far I have gotten my dealer to drop $150 off the price not including this rebate (that may save me another $75) The qoute he gave me for the 15 hp Kohler with 38" deck, Clean Sweep twin bagger, and mulch kit is $2809.00 I may place a deposit on one by April 30 if the rebate holds true. Doug, will you be cutting you lawn with the new Regent by this weekend? I would love to hear how you like it. Would still like to hear feeback from other Regent owners. Thanks, Marc

Can anyone that owns a Regent lawn tractor give me some feedback on this tractor? I am close to purchasing one and whould like to hear from anyone that has one. This tractor seems to have the best features of any on the market for under $3000. Other tractors I have considered are the JD LT155, and White 1850. Some specific issues I am interested in is how well this model mulches, how easy is it to change from mulching to bagging. With the 15 HP Kohler 38" deck, will the standard twin bagger be sufficient? The dealer indicated that you only need the Turbo bagger system for the 44" 3 blade decks. Also how well does the free floating deck cut the grass? Appreciate anything you can tell me. Thanks, Marc

The White is made MTD(junk) and I'm pretty sure the JD is too. If you buy JD you pay for the name, green paint and the rest is junk. As for the cut, nothing comes close to Simplicity with the full-width rear roller anti-scalp deck. I used to have a JD, now I can mow in 6 hours on my Landlord what used to take 2 days to mow with the JD. Nothing comes close to Simplicity. It will cost more up front but you will save much in the long run. Jordan

The Deere's cecks are not built heavier. It is not uncommon to see JDs on their 2nd or 3rd deck which costs about $2000. Jordan

Doug, The machine is $2499.00 for the 15 hp Kohler w/38" deck. Clean Sweep twin bagger $345.00. Mulcher $115.00. Total with these two options is $2959.00. The dealer offered to take $150.00 dollars off so my total cost with these add-ons will be $2809.00. What are you paying for your tractor and the accessories? I had sent Simplicity an email yesterday about the rebate. Here is what they told me: "The $75.00 rebate applies only to Regent tractors that were shipped to dealers prior to the new model year (8/01/00)." This rebate is intended to help dealers move non-current inventory. I asked him how to determine how you are getting the most current model. This is what he told me: Simp. does not put a manufactured date on their equipment. They track changes and updates with changes in the manufacturers number. The most current 15 hp Regent with Kohler Command engine would have a mfg# 1693797. That number designates a Regent with a 38" mower. If you look at the ID plate on the tractor itself it will say 1693528. These two numbers confused me. I sent him a reply and asked him to clarify the difference in the two numbers. I went to one other dealer that had a brand new Regent that was shipped in 1999 to the dealer and never sold. There are two big differences between that older model and the new one I looked at last Saturday. The 99 model does NOT have a ful length roller behind the deck to stripe. Also, the lever to change the height of the deck was different and very difficult to adjust. The new spring loaded model on the post 8/01/00 models is a much better mechanism. Based on all this if the model you bought has the new height adjustment lever your tractor may not qualify for the rebate. It would still be worth asking the dealer. Since the rebate may not apply to the Regent I am looking at, I may wait a few weeks to purchase since I need to get my finances in line. I will take your email address to work and forward you any emails I get from Simplicity. Keep me posted and I will do the same. Take care, Marc

Marc I have an older model and it doesnt have the full lenggth rollar on it and the height adjustment is a little difficult to operate when not on the tractor and the lever is not smooth when on the tractor. But as far as the striping is I dont have a really big lawn and the way I have to mow my front yard it would overlap and look alittle unorganized but I wish I could try it and find out for sure. I got the mower with a 14 Kohler so I think it would be under the cash back plan it is a two year old leftover. Please send me any info so I can take it to my dealer and he could give me my rebate. He is a good dealer but seems reluctant to send me my money. I got the tractor for 2016 the mulcher is 115 and the plow was 875 these numbers are close as to the fact that I am not looking at the receipt.

Hi Marc I just got the tractor and I had the mulching kit installed and it did a great job even though the grass is still to wet to mulch it did a great job and the lawn has never been so well cut. I need to call my dealer and get the 75 bucks back I am really happy with my purchase and I feel that you too will love it it turns on a dime and cuts smooth. I think you can get free financing until 2002 january. Good luck keep me posted. Good luck Doug
