"New" wheel weights for the B-10

Hello all! well, its super cold up here in minnesota, so ive been couped up in the shop monkeying around. Among the many little projects ive been working on, i decided to try to mount wheelweights on my B-10(which was in the shop anyhow). The wheelweights i decided to mount on the B-10 were off an old John Deere Mower(318 i think) that we had 7+ years ago. I had wheelweights on the B-10 already, but they were homeade out of cement and not very heavy. these john deere ones are really heavy(at least 2, maybe 3 times as heavy as the cement ones). to my surprise, they lined up perfectly on the rim. when they were on the deere, They were bolted on with 2 9-10 inch threaded rods. 2 of the rods were missing but i still had the other 2, so i cut them down to 8.5 inch (So i can get the socket on the nuts inside the rim) and mounted one of the weights. im going to pick up some more of that threaded rod hopefully tommarow. i also spent half an hour fixing up and adjusting my blade. If all goes well tommarow, ill and amount the other weight, go do some plowing, and take a few pics of the whole rig and put em on here :) now onto the pics.... Thanks for looking!

ahhh ok. i think the left tire(the one with the new weight on it already) leaks a little air. :s and sure! post em! :)

air pressure is irrelavent. inflat the tire till you have a good flat footprint of the tire on the ground with as little to no sidewall pooch. Let the tread flex and work for you as the larger the footprint the more friction/tractoin you'll have.

Thanks for the advice guys. I got that other weight mounted, and i took the B out to do a little plowing. seems like i have a lot better traction with the new, heavier weights. now ive just got to find a nicer, wider blade to replace the 38incher thats on it now! :)

As Dave said, the secret is getting the full tread to touch the ground with the tractor loaded. Just be sure that both tires have the same pressure. I run 8 psi in a set of ATV AG type tires. It pushes snow without chains and has not had any problems.
