Briggs stators

Recommended Posts

I am putting together some parts for another club member. I have a whole box of briggs stators I picked up along the way and just found again. There are three types of stators on this box. There are several that have a yellow rectangular female connector with two black wires.. There are several that have a clear rectangualer female connector with 1 red wire and one black wire.. And there are a couple in there that have a round green female connector and a black wire. What kind is each of these? I have a shroud with a regulator on it off of a 16HP Briggs cast iron, and that regulator has a yellow rectangular male connector with 2 yellow wires. I am assuming that the stators with the yellow connectors and wires mate to this regulator?

This manual should tell all the different types. The very last one that you described for 16hp seems like the one on my 16hp. http://www4.briggsandstratton.com/miscpdfs/RNT/alternator_replacement.pdf
