kohler carb issues

Recommended Posts

osenga
I was wondering if anyony has ever had problem with a kohler (mine k341) was out blowing snow . And with the snow melting off the hood the water running off the hood due to melting. the air breather on the carb sucked in the water and make it not want to run???? I know briggs has the covers to keep them from iceing up .SO what can I do to prevent this from happening again. Thanksin advance

Briggs covers aren't worth much, I have two. RayS throws a rubber mat across his hood so it covers the carb, I'm going to try that next time I'm out in a blizzard. Michiganmobileman just made a crude tin cover that covers the whole left side opening and reportedly works well. I think SmilingSam made a cover out of a paint roller tray. Good Luck

I think RayS is a 7117. I think it would work on my K301, 7112H, but I have a plow on that and it's not an issue. Michaganmobile is a 7018, dont know what SmilingSam's was. I think they all had factory shields that didn't work well. I know mine doesn't.

Hey, let us know if you find something that works. I'd certainly be interested.
