Non Briggs/Kohler motor installs?

Does anyone have pics or descriptions of motors that have been installed in AC/Simp garden tractors OTHER than the standard Briggs/Kohler 1/2cyl motors? Small Diesels? motorcycle motors? etc??

A couple of years ago there was a guy nearby who stuffed an aircooled VW engine in a 7117. Was up on E-bay, wish I had copied some of the pictures.

Thats kinda where I was going Greg...i have several aircooleds sitting in the shed...I did some measuring and see that with a little work i could make one fit...
