B-210 Parking Brake

Just to clarify, when you lock it down, are you sliding it back all the way in the slot first? If you are able to clamp down on the shaft with tension and still don't get a result, check the brake band tension.

Usually you can get a hand down in from the side plate if you take the RH (battery side) plate off, assuming your hand is small/flexible enough. The brake lock is just a specially threaded collar. It is possible that the collar itself may be worn or distorted.
