This is a local craigslist ad: http://kalamazoo.craigslist.org/grd/2260273464.html It doesn't run, and it's a model # 990303, which appears to me to be a model 303, but with a 10 hp B & S. Maybe I should get the engine model #. And he says it's a 33" mower deck. But a 32" was standard. It's also a vertical shaft engine. Are they as good as the horizontal shaft engines, and can it be a 10 HP? But for $150, it looks like it's in great shape. Think I'll go look at it tomorrow after work.

IMO, the problem with those model Broadmoors is that they have a 2-speed tranny. First gear seems too slow for some jobs like mowing, and second gear is too fast. If it had a Hi/Low, like many did, you could deal with it, but the one shown doesn't have, looking at the pics... The later 728 and 738s had 3-speeds and are a much more capable machine, IMO.

I was looking at this too, but really have no use for the lil' machines. It looks pretty good, and for $150, the parts are always worth that. I see them running low $$, so maybe you could get him down $25-50? You just never know with a non-runner. BTW, I didn't realize you were a MI boy...I need to check out the HB some time! It's one of those that is on my list...

I thought about that little guy too.. I have way to much on my plate anyway. I have had several of those older Broadmoors in the past. Like Kent said though " they only have a two speed tranny and first is slow and second is kind of fast" In my opinion they do a better mowing job than the larger frame tractors. I have seen where some people take the newer broadmoor 3 speed trannys and swap them out for better range of ground speed. Plus the newer ones had a PTO shaft to mount a pulley on for rear tiller and revitalizer attachments.. Let us know if you get it..

Nice looking machine. One of the front wheels is wrong. The frame plates and pivot point were much stonger on these 2 speed tractors. I've had some of the later ones and the plates tend to get bent, then your rear tires are off to one side, I've seen this several times.

I'm going to pass on this, I believe. I REALLY need something bigger, like a CUT, or even bigger, not a smaller one. It just looks like it's in pretty good shape overall for something that old. Collectable. He's only had it a month, both front wheels are wrong, and there is no documentation with it.

Nah, I still don't have "Allis" up and running. I'd rather have something just a touch bigger actually, with hydraulics. Someday maybe I can swing a hydraulic kit for this tractor. This just looked in pretty good shape. I got 2 others I'm still eying.
