hotrodtractor Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 Guys I know rear hitches are hard to come by. I know a member here is making them and may go that route. I have the OEM sleeve hitch and have thought that the adjust ability and ability to use 2" hitch would be nice, I can use a cargo carrier or adjustable hitch.... ect. Plus this guy is 30 minutes from me and the price is nice http://www.johnnyproducts.com/SleeveHitchAccessories.htm Sleeve to 2in Receiver Hitch Will accept any 2in tongue and allows you use a drop up or down hitch for taller trailers. $40
hotrodtractor Posted April 14, 2011 Author Posted April 14, 2011 my main concern would be the weight on the rear lift cable. But then again I could not imagine having over 500lbs on a tongue anyway.
CarlH Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 I think your concern about weight is valid. Consider that the hitch ball will be cantilevered considerably from the lift cable attachment point.
hotrodtractor Posted April 14, 2011 Author Posted April 14, 2011 maybe I will just buy both and see which I use more. For $40 a guy can't go wrong, the flexability of 2" reciever can not be beat. Yte for heavy towing teh frame mount is far better agree 100% they even make toilets that mount to 2" hitches.. just saying sm00 http://www.bumperdumper.com/ haha
Burntime Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 I know that for a fact that would not take the weight my rear hitch has. You are more appt to wheelie that far behind the tractor as well...
Burntime Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 Funny, I was just there, they have a broke down broadmore in the parking lot that has been stripped...
