dave7016 Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 started tractor this morning and no hydro movement. Has a Sunstrand. The thing also feels like it is in neutral, rolls easy, which has never been before. No reason for this as it worked great last week moving stuff around my yard. Valve pins under seat looks to be up. Fluid full. IDEAS??????????????
RayS Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 Number 50 is a pin. If it breaks it will not move. I bought a 7116H last year that the guy said wouldn`t move. It ended up being that pin.
OrangeMetalGuy Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 Could be a number of things. Did you let it sit for a while and retry moving it? Is the clutch fully up and is the Sunstrand drive pulley being driven? When you say it rolls easily, exactly how do you mean... same as if you push the bypass pins down (still not easy to move) or like you can just touch it with your hand and it'll roll down the road?
dave7016 Posted April 17, 2011 Author Posted April 17, 2011 went back out an hour later and all is good???? weird. Got it warmed up and checked the trans fluid, was a little low after warm up so I topped it off. Wonder what was going on.
OrangeMetalGuy Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 Mine will do that if it's cold out. Sometimes it takes a while to get the fluids moving... same thing with me :D Glad it's working. I would check the fluid level once in a while. If it starts to speed up going downhill that's a good sign that the level is low.
rsnik Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 I'm just saying, but from reading posts over the years, changing the fluid and filter solves "cold morning problems" 90% of the time.
dave7016 Posted May 5, 2011 Author Posted May 5, 2011 ok back to top. Tractor worked great and then twice this week it took 2-3 minutes of warm up time to get the thing to move. Brake lever was up, belt tension is good. Strange....longer it sits the longer it needs to run to move. Ideas on this????
Al Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 Hi, Sounds to me that the charge pump is getting worn and will need replaced. You need to check the charge pressure when it is not working. Al
dave7016 Posted May 7, 2011 Author Posted May 7, 2011 are you talking about #28 in the picture above and housing #27? Is this a simple bolt on/off piece?

dave7016 Posted May 8, 2011 Author Posted May 8, 2011 yes goatfarmer when I use it everyday it is just fine. Right now I have been tilling a lot with it so it has been fine just wondering if there was something short of spending a bunch of money I could do. Fluid and filter has less than 25 hours on them BTW. Looks Like a pump from Ray is in my future.
Al Posted May 8, 2011 Posted May 8, 2011 Hi, 27 and 28 come as an assy. This charges the drive pump. When they get worn, they lose their prime and have enough excessive clearance that they won't suck the oil to pump to the drive pump. Once they have oil it seals the clearance until the unit sets and the oil leaks down again. Al
