Karl_Brandt Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 Me & my Nephew went to a auction sale and came back with a Allis Chalmers 38 inch lawn sweeper & a Lawnboy lawnmower. The grass bag looks like it was replaced at one time. This was the only Allis Chalmers item at the sale. Still has the dealer decal on the sweeper Niagara Farm Equipment, Wainfleet,Ontario,Canada Karl
bud119195 Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 Are you sure it is a Allis? I had a John Deere one exactly like that one that I scapped out because brushes were bad and NLA.
Chris727 Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 Bud, its an Allis. It was offered with the 700 series and were most likely supplied by Parker. They made sweepers for many brands. Here is a link: http://www.simpletractors.com/models/700_series/700_early_attachments.htm
larry8200 Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 Nice, looks to be in great shape. I thnk Chris is right about Parker.
bud119195 Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 Parker must of made them for Deere also, Mine had the same green grass catcher
hotrodtractor Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 yup just sold a parker they are nice units... they made the good stuff for the oems
MPH Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 Sure looks heavier then my Craftsman 48 inch does. But I must addmit, it has held up to me quite well so far.
Talntedmrgreen Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 I'd like to know how well it works...I found a Garden Mark that looks very much like the one you have. It's clean, and tempting...
4xbill Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 Karl, yes there was an AC branded sweeper. I have one it has an orange and black basket. I have the parts manual for the Simplicity branded sweeper. if you need it, PM me
MPH Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 Josh, I been quite impressed with how well my Craftsman does. Use it for spruce cone cleanup, D-1 gravel I blow out on the lawn in the spring and even for grass.:). One short coming to me is my lawn is not perfectly flat everywhere and if you get a ridge in the center the wheels just slide along.
Karl_Brandt Posted April 25, 2011 Author Posted April 25, 2011 The AC sweeper is in very good shape......brushes look like new. Both wheels have lots thread on the rubber tire. The only think that needs repair... were the rope lifts up the sweeper to dump. Going to try out the sweeper on the lawn....if the rain ever stops.C:( Karl
