Anyone use these lights?

Burntime

I was thinking of 2 on the front of the cab and one on the rear. .5 amp, 6 watt, and 500 lumens. The northern tool ones are only 340 lumens usable so these should be good. Of course I have no idea how much 500 lumens is. Anyone with some experience that can say yay or nay to them? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=370481448339&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT

I can offer this limited information. A lumen is a unit of intensity. The following is a chart of INCANDESCENT lumen output vs wattage. While the efficiency is different for LED's, you can use your experience with incandescent bulbs to judge what 500 lumens is. Looks like the equivalent of mounting two 40W spotlights, perhaps on the dim side. 25 200 8.0 40 500 12.5 60 850 14.2 75 1200 16.0 90 1450 16.1 100 1700 17.0 150 2850 19.0 200 3900 19.5

Here is that link I told you about yesterday. Not sure there is anything in there you are looking for but has some reasonable prices. http://stores.ebay.com/Closer-To-Wholesale

I am Looking for a work light but don't think I need 500w. All the best plans in the world and I seemed to have partly cover the hole in the back right finder where there was a hole for a work light. I do like the LEDs for tail lights. A LED work light would be nice too.

4 pi lumens is equal to 1 candle.... Wattage and light output are not really a linear function since efficiency (lm/watt) typically increases with wattage. I wonder when we will see more LED's used for more worklights. Our ambulances, fire trucks and police cars are using them. Many less flasher circuits to repair and relays to burn out.

So 12.5 lumens equals 1 candlepower? Is there a watt conversion or is that the problem with efficiency you are talking about?
