kolher engine

i just bought a gravely mower with a magnum 16 kolher engine where can i find the engine# ? i think that the coil is bad and don't know what the coil# would be. can anyone help ? motor # or coil# THANKS JJ

If its a vertical shaft I believe the coil number should be Part# 5258402S if its a horizontal shaft then I think the number should be Part# 4758403S. the kolher only shows 2 types of coils for the M16.. Edited to ad: I do not know if these are Kohler numbers or not. I got the numbers from www.jackssmallengines.com Kevin
